Well Hello Everyone,

Well It is hard to believe another six months has past.  I have lots of info to share in this newsletter.  First off I no longer have to move and therefore no longer have to sell my flock YIPPEE!  It was breaking my heart to think I would have to give up any of my feathered friends.  I could not be happier. 

In the Aviary....

     We have had major changes.  First off I was lucky enough to find some awesome Peach face lovebird breeders and have added them to my flock.  The bloodlines on these birds stem from the current top five exhibitors in the Country. They are gorgeous show quality birds and have just started producing for me.  I have produced Little Wing Aviary's first opaline "Emma" and also am working on a line of Dilutes and Edge Dilutes.  It should be an awesome year for lovies here!

     Our cockatiels are doing wonderful and we are starting to see the results of adding emeralds to our line last year.  This year we are adding fallow.  I am anxious for these pairings to start producing.  The birds that we purchased last year are now coming of age and are now just starting to breed.  I am very pleased with the results and we will have some awesome babies from these pair.

     We did suffer a slight setback due to a flood.  I had to evacuate my entire flock of birds and we did lose some babies due to this.  The good news is that other than losing a few lil tiny babies that were in the nest boxes everyone else survived and thrived.  Thank goodness I have a family that will back me when times are tough.  Thanks Mom & Dad, Lor & Dave for feeding those lil beaks every two hours around the clock until I could grab them back.

In the Webstore.....

     Well we finally did it.  I managed to put up the toy part section and it has become very popular along with the food and treat section of the store.  Many of you had asked me to sell my custom high quality seed mixture and now I do.  This is good stuff and I can ship it to your door or you can come on by and pick it up!  Now that I have the bird toys and toy part sections of the store completed I am working on cage accessories.

Here are a few of the male Peach faced lovebirds that we purchased.  These birds are gorgeous and stem from the bloodlines of the current five top exhibitioners in the country.  We are really excited about the babies we are going to be producing from this stock.

Introducing the First Baby of 2008.

I always take a picture of the first baby of the year in this tea cup.  It was left to me by my grandmother.

Here is a great little treat that my birds love.....

     I take paper towels ( white only - no dyes pleas) and make little food treats by tying goodies inside.  I then place them around the cage out of site.  The birds have to forage them out to get to the prize which can be either a food treat or a toy.   It is fun to see them  explore every nook and cranny of their cage looking for something and makes them use there natural foraging ability.

 Let your imagination run wild......it is amazing what your birds like if you only offer it to them!
