Life is too short......Have you hugged your bird(s) today?

Little Wing Aviary sells on a first come first serve basis.

I do not hold birds unless a non-refundable deposit has been made and we agree on a paid in full date in advance

So you want to teach your bird to speak?

Did you know that we offer sitting services?

We provide sitting services for any bird purchased from us.  For $5.00 a day your bird can vacation with us while you are away.

I will not be held responsible for spoiling them rotten LOL!

Pricing.....

People sometimes ask me if my prices are negotiable.  Here is my pricing philosophy.....

I believe I am just as,  if not more deserving, of retail pricing for my birds than most pet shops.  I do not get to close my doors at night and go home.  I do not get sick days, days off or vacations.  I often work long hours and sometimes around the clock.  I am on call 24/7 for my clients who are often at my home.

Yes,  I am sure you can find a bird cheaper elsewhere.  You will however be hard pressed to find a bird of the quality you will get from me.

I am not aware of a pet shop that feeds the very best high quality seed mix and Roudybush pellets.  I know none that actually cook for their birds or provide fresh fruit and veggies.

Each of my baby birds are lovingly handfed from approximately fourteen days old.  They are NOT RAISED BY THE PARENTS.  They are socialized, get medical attention if needed and are not forced weaned. They are happy jolly souls.

I have purchased high quality breeding stock in the rare mutations available, including Emeralds, Dominant Silvers, Recessive Silvers, Dominant Yellow cheeks, Sex Linked Yellow cheeks, Fallow and Pastel face.

I provide accurate lineage information and continue to improve my bloodlines.

I do occasionally have sales. I offer payment plans and  a discount  for purchasing more than one bird,  but my prices are not negotiable.

I make amazing pets for people....that is what I do!

I am more than happy to provide references from my clients, many of whom are repeat customers.

Thank you!

Diane

LOOK WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING:

Hi Diane,

I want to thank you so much for the beautiful cockatiel I bought from you. He is such a little love, he sure does like to snuggle. I love Twilight so much, I already have him mimicking my whistle he has learned three whistles already. I stay on top of him to learn, I just bought another CD about learning to train him. I wore out my other one with my Sunshine. He sure loves to eat, I love his tail span so much , it is just beautiful. You did a nice job with him and thanks again. You are a sweet heart, It shows in Twilight.

Shirley

Hi! Diane

Just wanted to say thank you once more, our birdie " Zulu"  is adjusting nicely to his/her new home.
The only time he/she is in the cage is when we go to sleep, very funny about being with the flock.

Ill bring the cage back as soon as mine arrives and of course we will see you to get the wings clipped.

Thanks once again  for a fabulous bird.

Michelle and family

Hi Diane

Piper is doing fantastic. I bought her a playground and she absolutely loves it. She runs to me every morning. I am still working on getting her to drink from a water bottle but not yet. Not a big deal. She is chirping all the time and loves to get on my shoulder and pull my hair. She falls asleep up there. I love her. Thanks for such a great bird.

Jeane

Diane

I just want to thank you for letting me have Magic. She is one of the best things that have ever happened to
me. When I am sad some days she always cheers me up.

I have a poem for you that I only tell to people that I think of a lot and that I am proud of. I just want to tell you,  before I tell you the poem, that I think of you a lot
because your the one that gave me my loving bird and I am proud of you because you have so many birds and you are able to find them good homes, give them love, and take care of them all in one day. Well thank you. And here is the poem.

BUTTERFLY

Butterflies are neat.
Butterflies are cool.
Butterflies are sweet.
And So Are You

~Sarah

Diane,
You were so wonderful. I want people to know that when our first bird turned out to not be a good match for my kids, you really thought about it and found us the right bird. You were right, Cheerio is an absolute sweetheart!! We were going to name her Skittles, but the way she goes crazy for Cheerios... She's a real baby and we love her.
Thanks.

~Mitzi

Hi Diane! Been thinking a lot about Sam and can't wait for him to come home. Hope you don't mind but we have recommended you and your web site to several people. We were wondering if it would be ok if you waited to clip Sam's wings till we pick him up. We would just find it easier to learn if we saw you do it. Hope that isn't a problem. Thanks so much for everything!
~Bill & Stacy

  Pet Cockatiels For Sale...

The warm weather is here and with it more chances of an accidental escape.  NOW is the time to take me up on my free wing and nail clipping service.  Call or email for an appointment today!

Cockatiels are probably the best known pet birds. They are fun and easy to train, are intelligent and trusting thus making them one of the most popular.  They are more than pets they are a companions.

The Cockatiel is perhaps best loved for its wonderful disposition, intelligence and bright personality. They are much smaller than a lot of the other parrots, approximately 8 inches long from crest to end of tail,  making them much easier to care for and a great apartment pet.

Another wonderful thing about Cockatiels is they are relatively quiet. While speaking is not guaranteed most males can whistle songs and say a few phrases while females tend to be more quiet with an occasional chirp chirp sound. However exceptions can and do happen.  I have seen female cockatiels whistle and talk just as well as males.  It really depends on how much time and energy you are willing to put into training them.

The Cockatiel does not require much care but it's lifespan is directly affected by its diet. With a good balanced diet ( Fresh dark leafy greens, fresh orange, green & yellow veggies, a high-quality seed mix, pellet diet and fresh water) your cockatiel should do very well. The average lifespan is between 10 and 16 years, but when fed a healthy, varied diet a Cockatiel can live 20 to 25 years!

Cockatiels do very well in cages with many toys to keep them from becoming bored.  A wide cage is preferred over a tall one and cage bar spacing should be no more than half an inch apart. The bigger the cage the better. These birds thrive on human interaction  and require it in order to maintain their emotional well being! Place the cage in the area of the house where family members spend most of their time, such as a family room or den.  Consider purchasing a hanging gym to take from room to room.

Our Cockatiels are pulled from the nest box at approximately fourteen days old.  They are then handfed and remain in the brooder until feathered out.  After that they spend almost the entire day playing in birdie village or on someone's shoulder. It is at this time they are listed for reservation and usually only spend time in the cage at night to sleep.  They are used to being bathed and grow up surrounded by the normal goings on of family life.  They accompany me on errands, are introduced to new things everyday and each and every one spends quality alone time with me. They are well socialized!

We specialize in the rare mutations and take great pride in our birds and the  offspring they produce. We strive to make the perfect pet and believe that the time and energy we put into our babies is what makes us stand out.

"I am in the midst of moving.  Please bear with me as page updates and return emails are slower than normal due to moving.   You can still call me if you need to."

Due to the move I do not expect to have more babies for a few weeks.

"Now is the time to sign up for the August Food Club - Invoices will go out shortly! "

Warning we will not be held responsible if you fall in love with one or they fall in love with you!

Our babies are closed banded unless we state otherwise.

WAITING LIST - To make things perfectly clear, if your name does not appear on this list I am not holding or planning on holding a bird for you.  The waiting list fee will be deducted from the cost of your bird.

What are the benefits of being on the waiting list? This guarantees you get the choice of passing or taking the next baby that becomes available (from Little Wing Aviary babies not babies being listed for friends)  for sale or reservation. Once contacted an appointment must be set up or your decision to pass or take the baby offered must be made in a timely fashion (within 4 days) or we will be forced to move to the next person on the list.  All babies that will be sold will be offered to you first to pass or take as you prefer.  This is a great way to get a baby in a particular mutation or get first dibs on babies in the nursery.

The waiting list fee is per bird so if you want more than one you will have to hit the BUY IT NOW button more than once.

Discounts and Payment Plans:
  • We will be more than happy to deduct 25.00 for each additional bird purchased while your first bird remains with us.
  • You decide what to pay and when with our payment plan.  Simply press the make payment button under your reserved bird and you can enter the amount you would like to pay at that time. Payments are made through Paypal ( which does not require you to have a Paypal account) by major credit card or Paypal account.

Can't seem to choose which one you would like?

  • Instead of you choosing your bird why don't you let the bird choose you.  We have found that our birds, if given the chance will  often choose who they want to be with. There is some sort of connection that is visible if you just look for it.  Come to our home and visit with them.  You can sit and play with them in birdie village until it is obvious who wants to be yours or you meet one you just have to have.  Simply email us and we will be happy to arrange a convenient time for you to visit.

What will your purchase get you:

  • Informational emails so you may prepare for your little one to come home
  • A loyal loving pet to enhance your life
  • Free wing and nail clips for your purchased bird as long as I am breeding birds.
  • My support - I am only a phone call or email away for any questions or concerns you may have.
  • A place for your bird should you have to part with it.  Little Wing Aviary will take back any bird we sell at any time.  We feel responsible for what we bring into this world and will provide for your bird if you cannot.

Things that you should know....

  • Little Wing Aviary does not sell un-weaned babies
  • We offer a health guarantee on all our birds and test our flock on a routine basis.
  • We provide sitting services for any bird purchased from us.  For $5.00 a day your bird can vacation with us while you are away.  I will not be held responsible for spoiling them rotten LOL!
  • All Sales are non-refundable and final.  However, should a situation arise we will work with you to make sure the bird you purchase is a good fit for you and your family.
  • We will let you know when your reserved baby is ready to go home.  Any bird ( reserved or buy it now) remaining longer than seven days will incur a fee of $15.00 per day.  Any bird remaining longer than ten days (unless other arrangements have been made in advance) will automatically be put back up for sale and your payment forfeited.  We do this for the benefit of our birds.  The time to bond with your new baby is when It is young.  The longer they are here the more they bond with us and the other birds and the more difficult it is for them to acclimate to you.
  • Although some of the time the sex of a particular bird is obvious I cannot guarantee it without a $35.00 sexing fee.  It will then be DNA tested.
  • Male pearl cockatiels will likely lose their pearling after the first molt. An exceptional pearl male will keep small amounts of pearling.
  • We ship birds through Delta or Continental.
  • Although rare, sometimes we become aware of a situation that we are not comfortable with.  We reserve the right to choose not to sell our birds to anyone at anytime.  In this case you will be refunded in full.

Why would you ship a bird and how does shipping a bird work?

  • Sometimes it just makes sense to ship a bird in from another place.  If you cannot find a breeder near you and you want a particular kind of bird, or a sweet hand raised baby,  shipping just makes sense.  This bird is going to be part of your life for a long time and you should not have to settle for what is available in your local area.  In fact that truly is the key - DO NOT SETTLE!   Get what you want. Shipping birds has become very common and airlines are well aware of the precautions that must be taken to ensure the birds safety. I have shipped many birds and have not lost any.  Considering the lifespan of the bird is the extra 175.00 that it costs to get what you want worth it or not?  Only you can decide.
  • The bird is introduced to the carrier slowly over time so that it gets used to it.
  • After payment is received the flight is booked on a mutually agreed upon time. I will need your full name, address and phone number and the airport of choice.
  • I DO NOT SHIP COLLECT! The shipping fee is required to be paid in full before I book the flight!
  • I then book the flight.  I email you the exact time, flight number and reference number
  • On shipping day the bird is put into the carrier with food and drinking source and taken to the airport to catch the flight.
  • You go to the airport and pick up your bird at the specified time.
  • Should you fail to pick up your bird, after a period of time, approximately a day or two,  the airline will automatically ship it back to me and I must pay the return shipping fee.  I cannot stop this from happening.  If this occurs  your ownership of the bird ceases to exist and any payments you have made will be forfeited. In all my years of breeding birds  I never thought I would have to put this kind of policy in place.  It is a shame that one person had to ruin it for the rest.  The airlines will not open the carrier and give food and water to these sweet birds and for them to remain in the carrier for that length of time is just wrong.  To me,  this is animal abuse and I WILL NOT sell any of my animals to you in the future!
Shipping/Transport/Carrier Fee Want to have your bird Shipped? Then it will require a airline approved shipping carrier and a flight. Shipping will be arranged after this fee has been paid.  This fee is paid only once per flight,  no matter how many birds are shipped on that flight.

  $175.00
